Loreal microdermabrasion kit contents

The Loreal home microdermabrasion skin is comparatively simple and comprises of two creams:loreal_microdermabrasion

  • Exfoliating cream
  • Replenishing cream

Loreal exfoliating cream

This is the cream that performs the microdermabrasion process. In addition to using aluminium oxide microdermabrasion crystals, it has no fragrance or colouring added reducing the risk of adverse reactions. The Loreal exfoliating cream is also non comeogenic which means that it doesn’t clog skin pores.

The cream has a high content of crystals (20%) which are the active ingredient in the microdermabrasion process ensuring a thorough exfoliation. At the same time the inclusion of biosaccharide helps to counter act the abrasive side effects of crystals by soothing the skin.

Sun protection is an important feature of the Loreal microdermabrasion kit as both the exfoliating and moisturising creams have a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. The microdermabrasion cream also has balanced UV filters further protecting from the harmful effects of the sun.

The Loreal exfoliating cream comes as a thick white paste similar in texture to toothpaste in a 60ml tube. This is enough for 2-4 months depending on how often you perform microdermabrasion.

Post-treatment serum

Loreal’s post treatment serum comes in a slightly smaller 40ml tube because its rich texture means less is needed. This moisturising cream is fortified with vitamin E and a SPF of 15 to help sooth and nourish the skin while prevents dryness and flaking. The serum feels slightly greasy upon initial application; however, this dissipates as it is absorbed into the skin. There are approximately 30 applications in a tube.

Loreal home microdermabrasion directions

The absence of added accessories makes the Loreal home microdermabrasion kit easy to use:loreal_body_microdermabrasion

  1. Wash face to remove dirt and grease
  2. Apply microdermabrasion cream to face with fingertips
  3. Massage face with fingertips for 1-2 minutes
  4. Rinse out cream with warm water
  5. Pat face dry with towel

To avoid excessive abrasion apply the microdermabrasion cream while the face is still slightly wet. Avoid eye contact.

Loreal suggest that people with normal to greasy skin should perform microdermabrasion 2-3 times a week, while those with dry skin should limit microdermabrasion to twice weekly.

Because the benefits of Loreal microdermabrasion are most visible immediately after performing the procedure, it is recommended to perform microdermabrasion in the morning to enjoy rejuvenated skin throughout the day.

Loreal home microdermabrasion side effects

Like all home microdermabrasion creams people with particularly sensitive skin are likely to suffer side effects, in which case they should discontinue use. Common side effects are excessive and prolonged itching, redness, dryness and flaking of skin. Contact with direct sunlight should be avoided after microdermabrasion.
